What star sign are you? And do you believe in them?
I am a Libra, and I don’t specifically subscribe to the idea that the stars influence our personality traits, I do however find myself identifying with the traits but I think that could also be a result of the power of suggestion.
Are you a coffee or a tea person?
TEA!
What motivates you to work hard and be successful?
I think that a person who is a hard worker is a direct result of your upbringing. I don’t really have outside factors such as lots of money or holidays. I would love to be able to have the means to look after my family and friends. I think that if the question is specifically looking for an outside motivator, it would be that I would love to be able to take care of the people around me.
You are an owner of HALP! Media what excites you the most about being a business owner.
I want to be the type of business owner that provides a working environment where people come in and love the day. You spend the majority of your life at work, and I want to create an environment where people are happy to come and sad to leave! Where they feel like part of a family, and I think being one of the owners gives you the means to create this environment. In a big company, you are in someone else’s environment they have created and usually do not have the means to create this.
Your are an entrepreneur, what other businesses are you involved in.
A company called BEFOK caps, It is a boutique cap company, it’s a fun brand we are able to let our crazy ideas out in this company and just enjoy the brand!
Tell us a bit about Life before HALP! Media? What was the path you took to get to where you are today?
My first year out of school I spent in America as an Au-Pair, I then came back and started working for a lady named Wendy, I had known Wendy at that point since I was 15 doing promotions for her. We had a great working relationship I was her Coordinator and project manager for about 3 years, we worked on great campaigns such as Appletizer’s Sparkle On Campaign and we worked on the Carling Black Label taste test campaign it was really a awesome learning experience! after that I worked for smaller lawyers as a admin clerk. I then met Adam through a mutual friend and here we are 7 years later!
What do you do when you are not at work?
I like sewing, and going on trips with my friends, gardening, and hiking, we have a big family so I spend a lot of time with them!
Do you have any interesting hobbies
I have worms that make compost, I enjoy tending to them, I sew and knit and enjoy mosaic as well however, I am not that good at mosaic, but it is fun!
Tell us about some challenges you have faced over last few years and how have you dealt with them?
In a work environment you can say operating in a pandemic would be no.1 for now!
What advice can you give to people who would like to start their own businesses?
Make sure you choose something you are very passionate about, you will eat, breath, sleep and love your business, so a little passion goes a long way!
