Looking back with pride, looking ahead with confidence.

BY LUKE PAOLA (OWNER & FOUNDER)

As we step into 2026, I wanter to take a moment to look back on the year behind us (not too long) and share a bit of what lies ahead for HALP! Media.

Last year wasn’t easy. Trending conditions were tough, expectations were higher than ever,  and we ran at a pace that could have broken world records. Long hours became normal, pressure was constant, and there were times I honestly thought it was time to throw in the towel. But despite all of that, we did something we’re incredibly proud of.

We grew.

We grew our client base in a year where we didn’t expect to. We retained great clients under challenging circumstances. We doubled our team, welcoming four new staff members, while also saying goodbye to someone who had been with us for 11 years as he moved on to. new opportunities. Change isn’t always comfortable, but it’s often a sign of progress.

One of the biggest lessons for HALP!

One of the biggest lessons for HALP! (well me) last year was realising just how resilient we are. Like many businesses, we’ve had our moments of self-doubt. 2025 put that to rest. Under pressure, our team showed up, adapted, and delivered. No matter what we said yes to for clients the team smiled (well in front of me) also said yes and got the job done and that’s something I’m extremely proud of. Looking ahead, there is a real sense of optimism in South Africa right now. You hear it from clients, other business owners, economists and other industry leaders. 2026 feels like a year of opportunity, and we’re entering it prepped and ready!

We cannot skim over the elephant in the room – COVID-19.

This year, our focus at HALP! Media is clear. We’re doubling down on structure and communication to ensure our team is supported first and that our clients continue to receive the high level of service they expect from us. Our three themes for the year are simple and intentional: stability, growth, and accountability. Although HALP! Media is now 13 years old, it feels like we’re only just hitting our stride. The business is becoming what I always hoped it would be. A place where people grow, opportunities are created, and great work gets done.
